NJ Sports Betting Locations
Retail locations opened their sportsbooks very quickly after sports betting was legalized in New Jersey. Currently, there are eight places accepting bets.
Let’s take a look at all of the options.
Monmouth Park
As we mentioned earlier, Monmouth Park was the first location to launch their sportsbook on June 14th.
Together with partner William Hill US, Monmouth had plans for sports betting as early as 2013. So, it’s no wonder the two companies were prepared when the bill was finally signed on June 11 and launched just three days later.
The launch was very successful and by July (less than three weeks) the sportsbook had accumulated almost $2.3 million in revenue only from sports betting in New Jersey. Almost 35,000 people visited the Oceanport racetrack during the first weekend after the launch.
July was less impressive due to the momentary lack of sport events. However, it’s September and NFL will most certainly fuel a wave of activity.
Here’s when you can visit the Monmouth Park and William Hill Sportsbook:
- Monday-Thursday: 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.
- Friday: 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.
- Saturday: 7:30 a.m. to 2 a.m.
- Sunday: 7:30 a.m. to 1 a.m.
Borgata
The Borgata is considered as the best casino in Atlantic City by many and that’s no surprise. It’s the first casino in Atlantic City to open a sportsbook.
The first bet was honorably placed by Julius Erving a hall of fame player for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Revenue in the first month was respectable – close to $1 million, but very far off Monmouth Parks jaw-dropping figures. Similarly, Borgata also experienced a decrease in activity during July, largely due to the sports calendar.
Here’s when you can visit the Borgata Race & Sports Book:
- Monday-Friday: open at 11 a.m
- Saturday and Sunday: open at 9 a.m.
Ocean Resort Casino
Ocean Resort Casino is the reborn phoenix from the ashes of Revel. The location hosted a grand opening on June 28. Atlantic City rejoiced to see it’s biggest and most spectacular casino pulled out of two cases of bankruptcy and opening doors again.
The $2.4 billion property features a marvelous sports book by William Hill at the heart of the casino’s floor, featuring a bar area, multiple TV viewing spaces and a 360-degree sports ticker for full viewing pleasure.
This is the second William Hill book after Monmouth Park. The Ocean Resort sportsbook brought in over a $1 million in July and close to $200,000 in the few days during its launch in June.
Not bad for being pulled out of the dumpster.
The sportsbook is open for bets each day between 9 a.m. and 12 a.m. (midnight).
Meadowlands Racetrack
Meadowlands Racetrack opened it’s FanDuel Sportsbook on July 14. The East Rutherford location hopes to bring a healthy mix of NJ sports bettors as well as enthusiasts from New York metropolitan area.
New York failed to legalize sports betting and that gave Meadowlands confidence to seize the opportunity amidst the confusion. The results show that the sportsbook had a fantastic launch even though July was a generally weak month for sports betting. Meadowlands reports $1.35 million in revenue for July.
FanDuel promises to become a major figure in NJ sports betting. FanDuel Sportsbook, owned by Paddy Power Betfair also proved a significant competitor to DraftKings, who launched the first mobile sports betting app in August.
The book will close after all US games have finished playing. In the meantime, you can visit the Racetrack in the following opening hours:
- Mondays-Thursdays: 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.
- Fridays: 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.
- Saturdays: 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.
- Sundays: 8 a.m. to 1 a.m.
Bally’s and Harrah’s
Bally’s and Harrah’s both unveiled Caesars Entertainment sportsbook at the end of July and beginning of August, respectively.
New Jersey Sportsbook Locations
Wild Wild West Sportsbook launched at Bally’s on July 30th. Harrah’s followed suit and opened it’s sportsbook to the public on August 1st.
Both sportsbooks are powered by Scientific Games, which has significant operations in Nevada with its HQ located in Las Vegas.
Barry Cottle – CEO of Scientific Games expressed his eagerness to be partnering with Caesars as both companies make their expansion into the NJ sports betting market.
Both Bally’s and Harrah’s have the same opening hours. You can visit them at:
- Sunday – Thursday: 11 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.

The official “Sportsbook” was unveiled in the final days of August. Visitors can enjoy a high-class sports betting area, featuring lounge areas, numerous television sets and several self-serving betting booths.
The Golden Nugget joined hands with SBTech to provide the platform for its sportsbook. When asked about the partnership, Thomas Winter from the Golden Nugget shared that SBTech was chosen after rigorous vetting and testing process and also:
“In the end, we knew SBTech was the right partner for us because of its industry-leading retail and online technology, their significant and diverse regulatory experience, as well as its innovative product-driven approach.”
It’s worth repeating that SugarHouse Online Casino and Sportsbook operates under license by Golden Nugget.
You can visit the Golden Nugget Sportsbook everyday from 10 a.m. to midnight.
Resorts Atlantic City
Resorts is the last NJ location to open its sportsbook. Initially, Resorts was rumored to run a DraftKings sportsbook. In fact, DraftKings online sportsbook still uses the Resorts license to operate.
But the casino made a U-turn and signed a deal with SBTech to deliver their own sports book not branded by DraftKings.
Mark Giannantonio – President and CEO of Resorts said in a press release that:
“After conducting a comprehensive selection process to find the right sports betting supplier we feel that SBTech offers the right combination of deep regulatory expertise in the world’s most dynamic and demanding markets and the scalability to support our ambitious multi-vertical plans.”
